As of right now, 2007 is looking to be a very promising year for movies. I hope 2007 will offer us comedies like Borat and Little Miss Sunshine and action movies like Casino Royale and Apocalypto. So far I haven’t seen any promising comedies on the horizon, but I have seen some very good looking action films. Here are some of my most anticipated films of 2007.

300 (View Trailer)
In 2005, Frank Miller’s graphic novel Sin City was turned into a movie, which was fantastic. In 2007, Frank Miller’s graphic novel 300 will be turned into a cinematic masterpiece. Directed by Zack Synder(Dawn of the Dead(2004)), 300 looks like it will be as good as or better than Sin City.
Starring Gerard Butler, 300 is about the Battle at Thermopylae, where the King of Sparta led his army against the advancing Persians.
Grindhouse (View Trailer)
An homage to exploitation B-movie thrillers that combines two feature-length segments into one double-bill designed to replicate the grind house theatergoing experience of the 70s and 80s. In “Death Proof,” a psycho named Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) stalks and kills beautiful women with his car. In “Planet Terror,” a small-town sheriffs’ department has to deal with an outbreak of murderous, infected people called “sickos.” A gun-legged woman named Cherry (Rose McGowan) and her martial arts-wielding partner (Freddy Rodriguez) take on the zombie army.
Spider-Man 3 (View Trailer)
This is the third installment in the Spider-Man saga, with hints of Venom finally appearing. I am very excited about this film, mainly because it is a Spider-Man movie. Also, I can’t wait to see Venom on the big screen The Spider-Man movies have a special place in my heart, and have improved greatly since the first one. Director Sam Raimi knows how to do a superhero movie and he shows that with the Spider-Man films.
Hot Fuzz (View Trailer)
From the same guys that brought you Shaun of the Dead, comes Hot Fuzz. Now, this movie looks hilarious, probably one of the funniest movies coming out in 2007. I honestly can not wait for this movie. These guys are some of the funniest people in the movie business right now, anything they do I know I will like.
Jealous colleagues conspire to get a top London cop (Pegg) transferred to a small town and paired with a witless new partner (Frost). On the beat, the pair stumble upon a series of suspicious accidents and events.
Transformers (View Trailer)
Okay, I am not a Transformers fan, nor am I a Michael Bay fan, but this movie looks kick ass. If any movie will be a fun-filled, action-packed popcorn summer movie, this will be the movie.
Dueling alien races, the Autobots and the Decepticons, bring their battle to Earth, leaving the future of humankind hanging in the balance.
Now I am sure there are other movies I will see this year, and I am sure there are other movies I will want to see even more than some on this list, but those films haven’t come to my attention yet. So far, 2007 looks like a good year for films, and I can not to start my movie watching!
